With the holidays sneaking up on us, you might be trying to come up with THE PERFECT GIFT for the ones you love... Sometimes we put too much thought into it when it is really staring us in the face the whole time. I was excited to get a new book to review that does just that... Love Monster and the Perfect Present by Rachel Bright. In this new book, The Love Monster lives in Cutesville and a big day is coming up... It is a SPECIAL DAY like no other... Do you know what day that is? It is PRESENT DAY! It is THE day to give the BEST gift ever to the one you love... The only problem is that The Love Monster can not think of the best gift...
This book is super cute and I love the ending.. I can't tell you what it is, you have to read it for yourself... But, I will tell you this - it is a great one! It tells you that the gift from the heart is the most important one of all! We had a great time talking about the best gifts are the ones that are most special... it doesn't have to be a shiny new toy or anything, as long as it is from the heart, it is special!
Now, you tell me... What is a great "from the heart" gift you received before? For me, it is any of the artwork Broxton has done at school... Talk about from the heart!
As a school teacher and mom, I appreciate books like this. Teaching children lessons about the heart is important. I can't wait to check this book out!
ReplyDeleteI like books like this because it makes kids think that monsters are not scary. So many other books, and movies put the fear into freaky monsters. Then kids don't want to go to bed at night. Yay for a loving monster.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the ending. The cover is sure cute!
ReplyDeleteI think books make great gifts, and this looks like a wonderful book! My favorite gifts from the heart ever though are notes or pictures my kids have drawn. Those are things I will hold onto forever!
